Stuttering
The Monster Research study was a stuttering experiment on 22 orphan kids in Davenport, Iowa, in 1939 conducted by Wendell Johnson at the University of Iowa. Johnson chose among his graduate pupils, Mary Tudor, to carry out the experiment and he monitored her study. After putting the kids in control and experimental groups, Tudor provided positive speech therapy to fifty percent of the children, praising the fluency of their speech, and damaging speech treatment to the various other half, belittling the youngsters for every speech blemish and informing them they were stutterers…
